Volunteers are the heart of MOM and vital to the success of all programs. Listed below (more urgent openings listed first) are our current volunteer opportunities for Individuals who are able to commit to volunteering on a regular and on-going basis. Food Rescue

Become part of a great group of MOM volunteers! Pick up food, once a week, from community partners to help keep our food pantry shelves stocked! MOM is looking for rescue volunteers to fill several routes on Mondays and/or Thursdays, mid-to-late mornings (preferred) or early to mid-afternoons, on a once a week basis. Also looking for another rescue volunteer with a flexible weekday schedule to pick up food as needed.

Training will be provided on food safety. Use your vehicle or else be trained on the MOM pantry truck.

Food Pantry Inventory Support

Join a great group of MOM volunteers! Help ready the food pantry to open for client shopping mid-morning. Ensure that food deliveries are processed efficiently, that pantry shelves and storage areas are well-stocked and organized with a variety of items. Training provided for all volunteer positions. This is an active position, with moderate lifting and heavy lifting at times. Need ability to stand for 2 or more hours.

Sweep/clean the food pantry

Help us make the Food Pantry shine for when it re-opens for client shopping the next morning! Join several other volunteers and help Sweep/Clean the Food Pantry after it closes each Tuesday afternoons, from 1:30-3:30 or until finished, once a week, or every other week. Sweep the floors, wipe down food counter-tops, mop floors, straighten client waiting area and volunteer room and pantry.

Seniors driver

Help Seniors maintain independence by providing occasional transportation in a timely, courteous, and friendly manner. Volunteer once a week or once a month, whichever fits into your schedule! Weekdays only.

Seniors Chore Assistance

Help seniors maintain household independence by providing household light chores or yard work. Help once a once a month for a couple of hours each time! Great volunteer opportunity for an individual or even a family.

Data Entry

We are looking for a data entry volunteer to join our team. Use your computer skills to enter MOM program usage data, then carefully reconcile each batch to ensure data accuracy. Commit to a set schedule once a week, for a couple of hours each week. Minimum commitment of at least 6 months. Work to be completed at the MOM Distribution Center. Use your computer skills to help others.

Pantry Garden manager

Our current Volunteer Garden Manager is available now for shadowing. This is an exciting and vital volunteer position in our food pantry operations, with the objective to provide fresh and nutritious food to MOM clients while teaching gardening skills. The Volunteer Garden Manager oversees garden volunteers and our client gardeners in planting, maintaining and harvesting. 

Our current Volunteer Garden Manager is available now for shadowing and transitioning MOM’s next Volunteer Garden Manager.  Timeline is extensively from May through harvest annually, with some duties in the off-season. Our pantry garden operations consist of three areas: the MOM client/teaching garden; and two production gardens. This position reports to staff, Distribution Center Manager.
