Pantry Garden volunteer leader in 2021 growing season
*THE MOM PANTRY GARDEN IS OPEN THIS SEASON (but in a different model due to the Coronavirus)*
The Pantry Garden volunteer leader is an exciting volunteer position in our food pantry operations and is available for the 2021 growing season. Our pantry garden operations consist of three areas: the MOM client/teaching garden; and two production gardens. This position reports to staff, Food Security Manager.
Join a great group of MOM garden volunteers! If you'd like to observe the program now before deciding, let us know and we can arrange that.
The objective of the garden program is to provide fresh and nutritious food to MOM pantry clients while teaching gardening skills. This position works with garden volunteers and client gardeners in planting, maintaining and harvesting. Timeline is extensively from May through harvest annually, with some duties in the off-season.

Sweep/clean the food pantry
*WE HAVE SEVERAL CLEANERS NOW WHILE WE'RE CLOSED, HOWEVER. WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR NEW CLEANING VOLUNTEERS ONCE WE RE-OPEN (DATE IS TBD).*
Help us make the Food Pantry shine for when it opens for client shopping the next morning! Join several other volunteers and help Sweep/Clean the Food Pantry after it closes each Tuesdays (2 openings) from 1:30-3:30 or until finished, once a week, or every other week. Sweep the floors, wipe down food counter-tops, mop floors, straighten client waiting area and volunteer room and pantry.

- Ability to work efficiently, with minimal supervision

Food Pantry Inventory Support
*WE HAVE VOLUNTEERS NOW WHILE WE'RE CLOSED, HOWEVER, WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR NEW VOLUNTEERS ONCE WE RE-OPEN (DATE IS TBD).*
Join a great group of MOM volunteers! Help ready the food pantry to open for client shopping mid-morning. Ensure that food deliveries are processed efficiently, that pantry shelves and storage areas are well-stocked and organized with a variety of items. Training provided for all volunteer positions. This is an active position, with moderate lifting and heavy lifting at times. Need ability to stand for 2 or more hours.
