Building a Stronger Future, Together
There is also a lot of change happening here at MOM and we wanted to share some updates with you. At MOM, we serve some of the most vulnerable people in our community. Thanks to your generosity, throughout this past year we have been able to provide food, housing and other support to households in our community most threatened by financial crisis and illness. Concern for their health and safety continues to guide our plans, as we continue the reopening process. We are consulting with health professionals and others in our field as we work to reopen in a way that keeps everyone safe.
At this point, we are continuing to operate MOM’s Food Pantry as a drive-thru service. Under the recommendation of The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), the food distribution center will not be re-opening to in-person shopping in October as we had planned. We are however, excited to announce that our main offices are now open to the public as the remodeling is complete. The remodeling will help us maximize our space, adding offices and making the front lobby safer for everyone.
One of the things we have learned during this past year is that sometimes a little help today can go a long way in helping people build a stronger future. We recently received a generous donation with a note attached that said, “I could never forget that you helped me pay my rent many years ago, so I wanted to send back a donation to say thank you for your help at a difficult time in my life.”
We are grateful, that with your help we are able to continue to be there for our neighbors in times of struggle. As we progress down the road of recovery as a community, we want to be sure we don’t leave anyone behind. Together, we can bring those who have suffered the most this past year with us as we all work to build a better future together.
