The Girl Scouts of Troop 2950 have been Scouts since kindergarten. Now, as they finish seventh grade and are ready to move on, they have decided to donate their remaining funds to MOM. They earned these funds over the years selling candy and nuts and, of course, Girl Scout cookies.

Girls Scouts, Boy Scouts, Dairy Council, Second Harvest Support MOM

This year our food pantry benefited from many groups working together. Through the efforts of the Girl Scouts, Boys Scouts, Dairy Council and Second Harvest, we received 2,393 pounds of non-perishables, many boxes of donated cookies , and 1,094 gallons of milk provided all the fixings for Spring dishes for MOM’s food pantry.

UW Health Chefs Share Crockpot Recipes at MOM

A little over a year ago, some staff from Culinary Services at UW Health sat down to brainstorm what they could do to make a difference in the community for those suffering from food insecurity and limited food choices. They knew they wanted to partner with an organization reaching these people. Gradually, a plan to began to unfold. In the past year, that plan has continued to grow, their efforts expanding to make an even bigger impact in the community than they could’ve ever envisioned at that first meeting.

When most people think of organizing a drive for a food pantry, boxes of cereal or stacks of canned goods come to mind. And indeed, most food banks are need of these items. But they’re often also in need of something else: menstrual products. That’s why some high school seniors at Middleton High School decided to do hold a drive focused exclusively on menstrual products. They called it the Period Drive.

Back to School 2017

On Thursday, August 24 and Friday, August 25, 600 children from around the West Madison, Middleton and Cross Plains areas received a backpack full of school supplies thanks to the community, giving them a boost of confidence on their upcoming first day of school. In its 18th year, the School Supply program provides school-aged children, teens, and back-to-school adults with items that they will need to help them be successful in the upcoming year.
