Monday, September 25: FOOD PANTRY AND CLOTHING CENTER CLOSED, Case Management appointments at the DSC (off site). Office is open, but no walk-in appointments. Volunteers will be needed in some capacities, but not all. Volunteers should watch for an additional email with specific information.
Wednesday, September 27: In-Kind donors welcome to begin dropping off donations
MOM's 2013 capital campaign raised funds for our new building. Since then, however, it has become increasingly clear that the parking lot is a safety concern for clients, volunteers and visitors. Water damage, combined with heavy usage by cars and semi-trucks, have made the parking lot an urgent issue, and we have contracted with a local firm to begin the process of reconstruction. The repairs are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 5, 2017. After careful consideration, MOM will be closing the Office and Distribution Center for the three weeks estimated to complete the extensive reconstruction. We will be offering several mobile food pantries as well as appointment-only office hours to meet with clients at the Middleton Cross Plains Areas School District Service Center during this time.
A few things you should know:
- Calendar - We will be keeping updates about open hours and operations on our calendar.
Client Services - MOM will offer several Mobile Food Pantries with help from Second Harvest Foodbank. All current clients are welcome to attend and no appointments are necessary to go to attend. Case Management will also be available and the MCPASD District Service Center by appointment. Senior services will continue. More information is on our website and on our website calendar.
- Looking for updates? We'll continue to post updates about the status of the parking lot here and on facebook.
- Food / Clothing Donations - Because of the nature of the construction and the limited hours that staff will be at the MOM Office, we ask that you hold on to any food and clothing donations until after we re-open. There will be a great need to restock our food pantry and we'll need all of your generous clothing donations. We thank you for your patience and look forward to greeting you once we are reopen! For information on where you might be able to donate perishable items during this time, read here.
- Communication - MOM staff will still be reachable by phone and email and will be working throughout this entire time. We welcome you to work with us as usual!
