Distribution Center Reception

Program or Event:
Food Pantry
Clothing Center

Greet clients as they arrive and assist them with use of the Distribution Center (Food Pantry/Clothing Center), including some basic record keeping, answering phones, assisting other volunteers, and helping out with various projects.

Shifts are 2 hours - weekly, every other week, or monthly.  Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, and commit to at least 6 months. Training provided.

Food Pantry

Program or Event:
Food Pantry

Client Host volunteer: help clients at our food pantry to fill their shopping carts with groceries they need. 

Inventory Support volunteer: help accept and process donated food.  Stock shelves, rotate food and remove outdated items, all while keeping the Distribution Center tidy!

Shifts are 2-3 hours - weekly, every other week, or monthly.  Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, and commit to at least 6 months.

Pantry Garden volunteers

Program or Event:
Food Pantry

Work directly with MOM clients in the MOM Food Pantry gardens, or help maintain the gardens from spring through fall months. Skilled in growing techniques and able to teach others.  Time commitment will vary with skill level of gardener, but 2-4 hours per month is an estimate.

Design Experts Needed Now! for CANstruction Teams

Program or Event:
Canstruction Madison 2015

CANstruction Madison is a community competition to end hunger, which will be held in April 2015.  Teams build incredible, highly imaginative structures out of canned goods and packaged food they have either purchased or collected.  After the competition, the food is donated to MOM's Food Pantry.  MOM will invite the public to view the structures and contribute their own donation of canned food to help end hunger. Each team needs at least one person with design experience.  Businesses in the design/engineering/construction field can volunteer one or more design experts to assist teams with designing their structures.

As well as:
  • Be available to answer questions via phone/email and possibly meet one or two times.
  • Assist team w/ Design Submission utilizing CAD
  • Assure structural integrity
  • Preferably be available during build-out - can discuss this w/ team to determine if needed.

Seniors Program Driver

Program or Event:
Seniors Program

Help seniors maintain independence by providing an occasional ride in a timely, courteous, and friendly manner.  Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license and must maintain liability auto insurance.

Each Seniors Drive (round trip) lasts approximately two hours.  Volunteer once a week or once a month, whichever fits into your schedule!

  Because of household need, 18% of students in the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District receive Free or Reduced lunches.
