CANstuction Madison 2015

Program or Event:

In March we will start recruiting volunteers for our CANstruction event (canstructionmadison.org) to be held on April 20-26, 2015.  Most volunteer opportunities will occur on Monday, April 20th (early morning) for food delivery assistance and on Sunday, April 26th (evening) for the deCanstruction (removing food items from the stuctures for delivery to our Food Pantry).  

A volunteer application is not required, however, pre-registration is required for all day-of-event volunteers. Please check here for volunteer updates and signup.

Pantry Garden volunteers

Program or Event:
Food Pantry

Work directly with MOM clients in the MOM Food Pantry gardens, or help maintain the gardens from spring through fall months. Skilled in growing techniques and able to teach others.  Time commitment will vary with skill level of gardener, but 2-4 hours per month is an estimate.

Client Host volunteer: help clients at our food pantry to fill their shopping carts with groceries they need. 

Inventory Support volunteer: help accept and process donated food.  Stock shelves, rotate food and remove outdated items, all while keeping the Distribution Center tidy!

Shifts are 2-3 hours - weekly, every other week, or monthly.  Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, and commit to at least 6 months.

Seniors Program Driver

Program or Event:
Seniors Program

Help seniors maintain independence by providing an occasional ride in a timely, courteous, and friendly manner.  Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license and must maintain liability auto insurance.

Each Seniors Drive (round trip) lasts approximately two hours.  Volunteer once a week or once a month, whichever fits into your schedule!

  People who use MOM services live in West Madison, Middleton and Cross Plains.
